1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] (“we,” “us”) about your use of BillCaddie (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States to use the Service.
3. What the Service does — and doesn't do
BillCaddie reads a photo of a medical bill, explains the charges in plain language, points out charges that may be worth asking about, and helps you prepare questions. It provides educational information only. It does not negotiate, contact providers or insurers, file disputes or appeals, or make payments for you, and we are not your agent or representative.
4. Not advice; no savings guarantee
The Service is not medical, legal, financial, tax or insurance advice, and it does not guarantee any savings. Amounts shown as “worth asking about” are estimates, and price ranges are educational references. Always confirm details with your provider or insurer, and consult a qualified professional for advice about your situation. See the Disclaimer.
5. Your responsibilities
- Only upload bills that are yours, or that you are authorized to share.
- Check the numbers we read against your bill — reading can be imperfect.
- Don't misuse the Service: no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer it, no automated scraping, and no use of it to build a competing product or dataset.
- During the test build, use the sample bills only.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to your bills and the information in them. You allow us to process them only to provide the Service to you, and — only if you choose to share a bill — to measure and improve accuracy as described in the Privacy Policy. You can withdraw a shared bill at any time.
7. Our content
The Service, including its software, text and design, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use the explanations and question lists it produces for your own personal purposes, including sharing them with your provider or insurer.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (such as hosting and AI services) described in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for services we don't control.
9. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for decisions you make based on the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (currently $0) or $100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Changes and ending use
We may change, suspend or stop the Service at any time. We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the Service. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Disputes and governing law
If you have a concern, please contact us first at [privacy contact email] so we can try to resolve it informally. These terms are governed by the laws of [State], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [State], unless the law of your state requires otherwise.
